REFRIGERATOR INVERTER
The type HGI inverter can be used on vehicles (e.g.
on railway cars) to operate refrigerators with compressor, computer and
telecommunication units from accumulator. The power components of the
converter are FET transistors.
The FET transistors are connected to a transformer with middle tap point,
which also forms the choking coil of the low pass filter in the secondary
circuit. The control circuit supplies such a modulated sinusoidal control
signal for the control of the transistors that in the output voltage there
are overharmonics only beginning from the twenty-first overharmonic component
The equipment has also a stand by mode, which means that if no load is
switched on then the equipment does not load the accumulator even with
the open circuit load current.
