COACH CONTROL UNIT

The type KAV (CCU) carriage controller serves to supervise railway passenger-cars in a complex way (control, diagnostic tasks). The execution of the equipment makes possible flexible ex-tension. Its task is to receive and guide the remote signaling and series line signals of the accumulator charger, the signals of the car lighting, the speed impulse emitters, the door controller, the heating controller, the manual and the emergency brake, to supervise the operation of the UIC cable, to log events, to ensure diagnostic possibilities.

The control equipment is made in the rack system Europe. Its supply is taken from the accumulator of the car. The metal house of the equipment is independent of the grounds of the supply voltages, therefore also of the negative pole of the accumulator (AKKU-). The metal house shall be connected electrically to the boot of the car.

Its internal processing circuits and supply voltages are galvanic separated from the external world. The inputs of the equipment are protected against over-voltage and disturbance; its outputs are protected against overload and short circuit.

It is a modular construed, distributed intelligence, easily configurable system, where all cards are guided by micro-controller. The central microprocessor holds the connection with the partial units through a CAN bus.
